About Destination Niagara
Destination Niagara is a volunteer association of tourism industry players working to implement a comprehensive plan for the development of a common destination strategy for the Niagara region. The initiative is an expression of the Ontario Ministry of Tourism's Destination Development program. The strategy is spelled out in the document “Niagara Region 2006-2012 Tourism Strategy and Annual Action Plan”

The strategy was developed as a result of extensive consultation with local industry, beginning with the Premier-ranked Tourism Destination Framework process, initiated by the Ontario Ministry of Tourism. The summary report from that exercise was the basis for the development of the current strategy.
